A destination wedding adds a layer most local bookings don't have to think about: unfamiliar venues, different power and sound setups, local noise curfews, and often a guest list flying in from three or four different countries with three or four different musical expectations. I've built my sets around exactly that, Afrobeats sitting next to Bhangra, Bollywood next to House, so a dancefloor full of people who've never met before still ends up on it together.
Every destination booking starts with the same groundwork as a UK wedding: understanding your crowd, the songs you must hear, and the ones you never want played. Then it adds the logistics on top, confirming equipment with the venue or a local supplier, working around any sound limiters, and planning timings that make sense for a celebration lasting several days rather than a single evening.
Alexia & Olly's Greek destination wedding at Kallithea Springs meant working around one of the most striking, acoustically open venues I've played, a converted thermal springs building right on the coast. Yes. I regularly fly out for destination weddings and have played celebrations across Greece, Italy, Tunisia, Bahrain, and the USA, among others. Travel and accommodation are simply built into the booking, and I handle my own flights and logistics so it's one less thing for you to plan.
As early as possible, ideally 9 to 12 months out. Destination dates tend to move fast once a venue is confirmed, and I can only take one wedding per weekend, so early booking secures both the date and enough time to plan the music and logistics properly.
It depends on the venue and location. For some destinations I travel with my own core setup; for others, I work directly with a trusted local supplier or the venue's own equipment, confirming the full technical spec in advance so there are no surprises on the day.
Yes, that's a core part of what I do. Bhangra and Bollywood are deeply rooted in my sets, alongside Afrobeats, Arabic, House, Motown, Hip Hop and more, mixed together for a genuinely multicultural dancefloor wherever in the world the wedding is.
Very common with international venues, and something I plan around as standard. I'll ask about local noise limits, curfew times and sound limiter requirements during planning, so the whole night is built around the venue's rules rather than running into problems on the night.
